  4. Nice. Have followed Iggy for years (have even been lucky ebough to see live a few times here in Japan over the years) and this is a nice fork in the road at this time in his life….well maybe more so at MY time in MY life. Iggy’s low rumble of a voice is very well suited for this sort of late night laid back ambience. I like the rock but I like the jazz too. Doesn’t eveyone?

  6. Iggy, thank you for introducing me to The Possibility of an Island. I’ve heard of Houellebecq before, but never read his work. I’m 60 pages from the end. I look forward to your new album, the songs you’ve released so far sound great. I bought Funhouse a few months ago, and your new album sounds like a mature extension of that album. Can’t wait to get it at the end of the month. If you go on tour again, please come to Boston.

  7. Your music helps me a lot. I have no dog, no job, no wife and kids and seem to live like a sadhu in society even though I’m from Austin Texas in this life. Your expressions help me grow and develop and have courage to overcome critics and those who judge, label and otherwise attempt to arrest my identity development. That or throw me in some sort of box I don’t fit into as to define me for their comfort level.

Raw power, success, nightclubbing, dum dum boys, and other songs… these works of art let me be at peace with the duality in passions and pains that the artist explores to find the higher truth. The way that you express your middle passage (not around it, but through it) reminds me of tales of Ganesha.

I plan to go to San Francisco and fulfill my destiny to grow flowers for war widows and those that need to be healed like cancer and aids patients. This is the identity Lord Siva calls me to become. Your music helps me to be at peace with discovering who I really am.

Corporations, governments and entities like Goliath polluting the planet with lies and foolish use of resources and brute force wars… well these titans do appear of significant concern to someone who plans to save the planet with a plant but I’m leaving the heavy shit up to Lord Shiva and Shoki the demon queller and any punk rocker who listens to their higher calling even if may appear to be a destructive path to those that are blinded by their own fear or anger.

I know in my heart and mind that the billions of God children without clean drinking water and millions of war widows(orphans) need someone on their side. I really don’t want to harm anyone… just grow flowers for sick people and use the money to help all those war torn people that are beat up so bad. You know what it’s like when someone takes all your shit from you kills your friends and family and you have no clean drinking water or food. So what if I don’t have a dog or a job or a wife and kid. I guess what I’m saying is that your music helps me see past my lower ego… my animal soul and into the higher divine which is present in every living creature and reflected in harmonious relations. We all got these shadowy parts… these demons and when we are honest about them perhaps we can harness their power for something good and creative. That’s what your art, your music is about to me.

BLah blah blah and happy belated birthday

    Thanks for being an inspiration,

    David H

  9. Big Bob’s bravado comes from being able to hide behind his monitor while real artists like Iggy are living life and giving us something to enjoy. Keep the lust for life!
